It has been a long three months without you but the blog redesign is finally here! I wish I could say I spent that whole time working on content for the blog, drinking my water, and minding my edges; but alas, no. The break from daily posting gave me room to deal with some real challenges I had: asthma frustrations, a very expensive A/C repair, nursing Crispin who got injured in a cat fight, and collaborating with friends on another web venture that will soon be launched. It’s been a lot on me mentally and financially but I’m coming up on the light at the end of this tunnel and it doesn’t appear to be a train.
I wanted the redesign to be perfect at relaunch but then sanity got the better of me and I decided posting regularly again was more important; so here we are at our new home with WordPress.org. I have more control over how content is presented and much more ease in editing and posting. Eventually I’ll get this SEO thing down and hopefully get to meet more readers like you! You’ll see other changes around here in the coming weeks and months.
- Dare180 is moving to a new yet-to-be-launched platform altogether. The Soul Candy posts will stay but will be more robust.
- Adding new home, craft, and food sections! They’ll be phased in bit by bit, but you’ll start seeing posts very soon; including sewing, pattern drafting, and craft tutorials, as well as recipes and inspiration boards.
- New pages for the main categories are coming! Right now when you click on Beauty, Style, Hair Rehab etc it gives you the posts listed in blog format but that will be changing so that it will be easier navigate and find specific things you’re looking for.
It feels like I’ve got on brand new suit and am strutting to the beat of a new drum; flipping my hair and ready to take on the blogosphere. The redesign and new platform fits me better on the front and back end. I’m excited about blogging again and I’m boiling over with new ideas that I can’t wait to share with you!
Thank you for sticking with me and being patient while all of these changes were happening. It really means so much to me that you’ve come along on this ride. Let me know what you think of the new digs and what you’d like to see more of in the comments. Regular posting begins later this week so get ready!
