For the first month and a half of this year I could be found wearing the same black cowl neck sweater and grey pants every. damn. day. I didn't care about my "fashionista" rep being ruined or if people were beginning to worry about my sanity. All I know is that the last thing I wanted to think about in the morning is what to wear to work and I was comfortable and presentable.

Doing the Most 32 Birthday Celebration
I was inspired by the beautiful ball gowns of the 1950s from the likes of Dior, Givenchy, and Edith Head . I’m bringing out the opera length gloves and if time permits a headdress and evening cape or stole. As usual it took me forever to decide what I wanted to do, so this gown is being made under duress. I think I’ll be able to pull it off. It will be my prime focus until it’s done so I went with a fairly simply design.

Zenni Optical Review: 283621 and 124112
A family member of mine suggested I try Zenni Optical for both their price and enormous selection. She had dozens of pairs and was satisfied with their service and product. I don’t have a complicated prescription; it’s quite mild, but the ease of inputting my details was so nice. I ordered two frames though at these prices I could get five or six pair for the price I’d usually pay for one.

Fabric Stash Challenge 2017
Now that I’ve cleaned out my wardrobe I need to clean out my design closet. Closets. And room. And trunk. So I’m challenging myself and I’m challenging you dear reader to do the same if you have this problem and are willing to admit to yourself you need to do something about it. I’m giving it to the end of the year. Whatever pattern or fabric I currently have in my possession that I have not used in the next six months will be donated to the nearest school, charity, crafter, etc. who can use it.

My Style: Small Handbags Are Everything
. Even though the concept of wearing small purses is not new it was a change from how I normally operated. I used to carry everything I thought I might need in an oversized handbag that could double as a small piece luggage. I happened upon a little private label beauty three years ago. It’s amusing how something as simple as a handbag illustrates so well the fundamental change in perspective I have in general about things in life: less is more and make do with the essentials.
