I need to flip through her pattern books again next time I&#8217;m home. This dress remains popular among sewists and you can find a plethora of reviews for it on the internet. So here&#8217;s me adding my $0.02 to the conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pattern<\/strong>: Vogue V9311<br><strong>Size Cut<\/strong>: 12&#8242;<br><strong>View<\/strong>: B<br><strong>Fabric Used<\/strong>: Rayon Challis (<a href=\"https:\/\/trulyclaire.com\/test\/stitching-the-stash-dark-hawaiian-floral-print\/\">You can see more photos of this finished dress here<\/a>)<br><strong>Notions<\/strong>: Interfacing for the cuffs<br><strong>Instructions<\/strong>: I read them once to make sure I wasn\u2019t missing anything special and then didn\u2019t refer to them again. They are clear and straight forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-gutenverse-image guten-element guten-image guten-g73gpn\"><a class=\"guten-image-wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gutenverse-image-box-filled\" src=\"https:\/\/trulyclaire.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/V9311.png\" height=\"1148\" width=\"819\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-gutenverse-image guten-element guten-image guten-go9hBw\"><a class=\"guten-image-wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"gutenverse-image-box-filled\" src=\"https:\/\/trulyclaire.com\/test\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/IMG_6825_edited-scaled.jpg\" height=\"2560\" width=\"1692\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Adjustments<\/strong>: I added 3\u201d to the length of the skirt and 1\u201d to the length of the sleeves. I would ordinarily also drop the waist line about an 1\u201d as a rule, but I liked the way it looked as is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fit<\/strong>: In my opinion it\u2019s true to size and feels very comfy on. A very easy throw on dress that can be dressed up or down depending on the fabric choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Design and Styling<\/strong>: My only criticism of the the design is the final piece does not have the exaggerated full bishop sleeves as illustrated on the pattern envelope. I wanted to adjust this but didn&#8217;t not have enough fabric. So I made a note for next time to buy an additional half a yard so I can accommodate for a fuller sleeve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Difficulty Level<\/strong>: Beginner Friendly. If you\u2019re learning to sew this will be good practice for using bias binding, turning fabric tubes, and sewing narrow hems. If you\u2019re intermediate or higher, you\u2019ll breeze through this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Overall Impression<\/strong>: A solid design that can be adapted for all seasons and occasions, easy to wear and elegant.
