What I thought would be a breezy summer has turned out to be anything but. Plans I had for this blog got put on what seemed like indefinite hold and the frustration from nearly everything else in my life going left was mounting. By the time I made it to September I was warning everyone close to me that I might end up babbling in a corner if things don’t shift soon. So far, I’ve managed to avoid a complete breakdown by simply throwing on the brakes, doing less, and leaning into my creative practice when my energy was good.

“Do more by doing less” has become my mantra for the last few weeks and I’m taking it with me into September and beyond. This September I’ll be bringing you what I’ve been working on during these past couple months that I’ve been in absentia. I’ll finally be sharing my 2025 Birthday Gown and the concept for my upcoming 2026 Birthday Gown. I’ve got sketches, books, and other concept work I’m eager to share. And lastly, but certainly not leastly, I’ve got some thoughts on and resources about the creative process and work life balance that I hope will be helpful to you.

I’m not completely out of the overwhelm I’ve been working through – life be life-ing – but I’ve got a better handle on things and one of the things making it possible is seeing this blog come to life. Thank you for joining me. I hope September and the last few of summer treat you very well.
