Fabric Stash Challenge: Burgundy Faux Snake Skin

It took way longer than I anticipated for me to get to the next fabric in the fabric stash challenge, but I got there and have made these shorts!

I finished these this past April. The pattern I used is McCall's pattern M7726 and, while it is a classic style, the pattern itself is not as straightforward as I thought it would be. I made some adjustments and I'll discuss that in a later post when I do a formal pattern review.

Originally, I was going to do both a pair of shorts and a top from this fabric. I later changed my mind. I decided to do a pair of shorts and a jacket. I do have the jacket pieces cut, but, I decided not to make it right now. I plan to finish it in the early fall.

However, despite only making the shorts, for the purposes of this challenge, I can officially say, that this part of the fabric stash is completed! Since we're well into Spring they’ll be waiting for me to wear this fall. Below are pictures of the shorts styled in the way I planned to wear them when I though they’d be done this past September.

I have two more garments to share made with the last two fabrics in this round of the Fabric Stash Challenge and I’ve already started Round II. I’ll be sharing my fabric picks for that round soon.

I have sewn a couple other things, aside from these shorts that were not a part of the challenge. Life has been really busy in a very good way lately and I haven’t made the time to chronicle those projects, but I’ll be sharing them soon

My hope is that this round of the challenge done soon. I'll be able to run through the rest of Round I, a lot more quickly than the first half and get back to my goal of one project, every two weeks.

See you in the next one,

Truly,

Claire.
